Grama's Clam Chowder

Ingredients

1 c chopped onions
3 c chopped potatoes
3/4 c butter
1 pint half&half
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 c chopped celery
2 cans minced clams
3/4 c flour
2 c milk
1 tsp sugar

Directions

Mix onions, celery, potatoes, juice of clams.  Barely cover with water and simmer until tender (20 minutes).  Mix flour, butter, milks and heat together to make white sauce.  Add to onion mix and hear.  Add sugar and salt (to taste).  Serves 8
