- Make thick patties - thick enough to use the temperature probe
- Season both sides of the patties with
- salt
- pepper
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- Leave out of refrigerator for 30 minutes to bring to room temperature
- Turn on smoker to ~225 degrees and wait for white smoke to appear.
- Smoke for 30 minutes
- Increase heat to “high” (~350) until temperature probe says 160 degrees
- Add cheese
- Remove from smoker when cheese is melted
